The band's original lineup consisted of Ronnie Van Zant as the lead vocalist, Gary Rossington and Allen Collins on guitars, Larry Junstrom on bass, Bob Burns on drums, and Billy Powell on keyboards. Lynyrd Skynyrd gained significant recognition with their debut album, "Pronounced 'Lĕh-'nérd 'Skin-'nérd," released in 1973. The album featured their most iconic song, "Free Bird," which showcased their exceptional musicianship and Van Zant's soulful vocals. The band's second album, "Second Helping," released in 1974, solidified their success with hits like "Sweet Home Alabama" and "Don't Ask Me No Questions."
