The Volcanos first erupted in 1994. They set out to create a high-energy reinterpretation of classic 60s surf music. After cooking up a few originals, the band put out two 45s on their Neurotic Bop label. The records were greeted favorably by the then-swelling, post-Pulp-Fiction surf music scene. The boys then hooked up with Estrus Records for a series of well-received 45s, LPs and CDs Chris Casello is a guitarist, performer, singer, producer a member of the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. His latest CD Surfin Hayride was released in 2024 Forming in 2004 in Indianapolis, Indiana, The Madeira features Ivan Pongracic on lead guitar, the founder of the 1990s surf music icons the Space Cossacks; Patrick. OConnor on rhythm guitar, the founder of the Indy space-surf mavens Destination: Earth!, Dane Carter on drums, and Todd Fortier on bass Michigans Kitten and the Tonics blend a combo of intricate drum beats, surf inspired guitar saturated in reverb, all driven forward by a thumping and swinging upright bass.
