LFO, short for "Low Frequency Oscillation," is an influential electronic music group that emerged in the late 1980s. Comprising of Mark Bell and Gez Varley, LFO played a pivotal role in shaping the sound of British techno and electronic music as a whole. With their innovative use of synthesizers and bass-heavy beats, LFO became known for their distinctive sound that blended elements of techno, acid house, and ambient music. Formed in Leeds, England, LFO gained recognition with their debut single "LFO" in 1990. The track's infectious bassline and minimalist approach quickly caught the attention of both underground and mainstream audiences, propelling the group to the forefront of the electronic music scene. Their self-titled debut album, released in 1991, further solidified their status as pioneers of electronic music, featuring tracks that showcased their experimental and forward-thinking approach.
